Start demonstration project to improve irrigation in Poland

The Dutch companies RMA, Loonstra & van der Weide, Irriwatch and the Polish farm Cena are starting a cooperation project in Poland to improve irrigation efficiency.

In the project, the techniques of soil scans, sensors and satellite images come together. What we do during the growing season is to compare the advices for different irrigation techniques such as drip tape, pivot and reel. This gives us insight into the possible savings and yield increases. The Polish growers are very interested after the very dry years of 2018 and 2019.

The project is partly supported by a contribution from the subsidy scheme for demonstration projects, feasibility studies and investment preparation projects (DHI) of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)).
